Greython Building Company is pleased to announce that we have been selected to act as the construction manager and general contractor for the Ritz Carlton Reserve, Cotton Bay. The bespoke project is located on the south end of the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. This island is part of the Bahamas chain, situated 50 miles (80 km) east of Nassau (15 minutes by plane) and 220 miles southeast of Miami (35 minutes by plane). It is a long and slender island, measuring 110 miles (180 km) in length and just over 1 mile (1,600 meters) in width.
The $285 million dollar project consists of 111 hotel suites, all with beachfront views, 67 branded luxury residences, and an 18-hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones. The exclusive development will be the second Ritz Carlton Reserve in North America and the 8th in the world.
Greython will oversee all civil works, hardscape, aquatics, landscaping, and vertical construction for the hotel, restaurants, back of house, and amenity buildings.
The distribution of the 111 rooms is done through 26 modules, each with 3 or 4 units and 3 stories that meet the different typologies requested by the program.
The project also consists of the construction of numerous amenity buildings including:
• 1. Arrival area for guest reception (ARR).
• 2. Three Meal Restaurant (TMR).
• 3. Specialty Restaurant (RST).
• 4. Specialty Store such as jewelry or art gallery accompanied by a coffee area with a culinary center that will feature a kitchen where guests can take cooking lessons and learn about local gastronomy (MKT).
• 5. Pool and sunbathing area with a food and bar zone.
• 6. Beach Club.
• 7. Spa and Gym (SPA).
• 8. Event and conference building with wedding showroom and garden (FSP).
• 9. BOH or service and support buildings (BOH).
•10. Administrative and office areas.
• 11. Employee areas.
• 12. Golf clubhouse (GCH).
•13. Numerous pools and water features.
Work will also include full civil underground infrastructure, wastewater treatment plant, RO plant, backup power generation, wet and dry utilities, and low voltage. Additionally, the scope includes extensive hardscape, landscaping, and multiple aquatic features and pools.
