POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Superintendent at Greython Construction oversees daily operations on construction sites, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to plans and specifications. They supervise subcontractors and self-performing employees, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building codes. Responsibilities include detailed planning, scheduling, and problem-solving during the construction process.
They communicate with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and clients to keep everyone informed of progress, changes, and challenges. Superintendents interpret project plans, manage procurement, and ensure timely delivery of materials to avoid delays.
This role requires strong leadership, organization, and on-site presence. The Superintendent monitors inspections and ensures quality, addresses deficiencies, and minimizes risk. Technical skills, communication, and integrity are essential.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Read and interpret project plans and specs

Supervise construction workers and subcontractors

Enforce all safety policies and procedures

Report project discrepancies immediately to PM or APM
-
Complete administrative tasks (daily logs, safety meetings, photos, credit reports, etc.)

Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, and utilities
-
Maintain a clean and safe jobsite
-
Stay familiar with subcontractor scopes and project schedules
-
Communicate updates to stakeholders as required
-
Perform regular site inspections
-
Mentor and train Assistant Superintendents and team members
-
Conduct pre-closing walk-throughs and resolve punch list items
-
Hold weekly safety meetings and document them
-
Report injuries/issues immediately and resolve them
-
Receive and inspect all deliveries; submit packing slips to admin

Perform additional duties as required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
-
Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
-
Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred
-
5–10 years of field experience with a general contractor or specialty trade
-
2+ years as Superintendent on commercial/residential projects
-
OSHA 10 preferred
-
Knowledge of commercial construction techniques and materials

IT REQUIREMENTS:

Familiar with Microsoft Office

Proficiency in Procore, SAGE, or similar tools
