POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Senior Project Manager at Greython Construction plays an essential role in overseeing all aspects of construction projects, from initial planning and design to final completion and close out. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that Project Managers keep project deliveries on time, within budget, and meet the highest standard of quality. Strong skills in management, budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis are essential to successfully manage projects and drive profitability.
In this role, a successful Senior Project Manager will manage Project Managers and ensure project alignment with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that project specifications are met. They will conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify potential issues and implement corrective actions as necessary. Strong leadership skills are essential as the Senior Project Manager will manage project teams, including overseeing the Project Managers and facilitating effective communication among all team members.
The Senior Project Manager will handle contract negotiations, procurement of materials, and logistics coordination. They will ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle. Proficiency in construction management software is required to track project milestones and manage documentation. By identifying and mitigation potential risks, the Project Manager will contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality construction projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage project portfolios, ensuring all activities align with strategic objectives and project goals
- Ensure all deliverables meet or exceed rigorous quality standards
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation
- Create, manage, and monitor project budgets, ensuring cost control and efficiency
- Lead and mentor project teams, including assistant project managers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project specifications and quality standards are met
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective action
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle
- Handle contract negotiations, procurement of materials, and coordination of logistics
- Prepare and present project reports to clients, senior management, and other stakeholders
- Identify and mitigate potential risks to ensure successful project delivery
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure that construction work meets established standards and specifications
- Ensure all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and properly archived
- Maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring satisfaction throughout projects
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 10-15 years’ experience in the construction industry with a progressive track record of managing various types of construction projects, and managing teams
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field is preferred
- Master’s degree in construction management, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field is not required but advantageous
- Personal certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or LEED Accreditation can enhance the Project Manager’s qualifications
- Strong experience in budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis to ensure project profitability and financial efficiency
KNOWLEDGE | SKILLS | ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Proven experience in leading construction projects from inception to completion
- Leadership and mentoring abilities, fostering effective communication and collaboration
- Risk management skills
- Contract negotiation skills for negotiation of contracts, materials procurement, and supplier relationships
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues
- Awareness of safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards
- Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and equipment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- General ability to bend/kneel/lift/climb at jobsites and office
- General ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds
- Materials may be needed to be placed to and from one location to another
- Must have ability to arrive at jobsites, offices, materials locations as necessary
- Ability to be on-call as necessary when projects require
- Potential for weekend availability when needed
- Travel may be required
- Ability to sit in front of a computer screen, type, for long periods of time
IT REQUIREMENTS:
- General knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office technology
- Accounting software; SAGE, or other Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) system
- SAGE (or Procore)knowledge a plus
- Drop Box or similar shared drive knowledge
- Bluebeam or similar estimating software
- General ability to utilize cellular phone/laptop/iPad or tablet for work
