POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Finish Carpenter at Greython is responsible for precise and detailed work that brings construction projects to completion. This role focuses on installing trim, molding, cabinetry, doors, windows, and other fine woodwork elements that enhance the appearance and functionality of interior and exterior spaces. The Finish Carpenter works closely with project managers, designers, and other trades to ensure high-quality craftsmanship that meets design specifications.
Key responsibilities include reading blueprints, measuring and cutting materials accurately, and using a variety of hand and power tools to complete detailed installations. The position requires a strong eye for detail, excellent manual dexterity, and the ability to work with a variety of materials including wood, laminate, and composite products. The Finish Carpenter must also be skilled in sanding, staining, and finishing surfaces to achieve a polished final product that meets project requirements.
Successful candidates will have several years of carpentry experience, particularly in finish or trim work, and a solid understanding of construction techniques and safety standards. The role demands a high level of precision, problem-solving ability, and the flexibility to adapt to changing project needs. This is a key position in delivering the final aesthetic and functional touches that define the quality of a completed construction project.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Understand detailed drawings and project plans to execute precise finish work

Fit and secure baseboards, crown molding, window casings, and door frames with accuracy and care

Assemble and mount custom cabinetry, shelving, and other built-in features according to design requirements

Use hand and power tools to cut wood, laminate, and other materials to exact dimensions
-
Sand, stain, paint, or seal wood surfaces to achieve required appearance
-
Maintain high standards of craftsmanship, ensuring all work is level, plumb, and aligned
-
Coordinate with electricians, plumbers, and site managers to ensure seamless integration of finish elements
-
Keep tools in good condition and maintain a clean, organized workspace
-
Adhere to all Company and OSHA safety standards, always using PPE and safe practices
-
Make real-time adjustments to materials or installations to resolve fit or design issues without compromising quality
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or GED
-
Vocational or technical training preferred in carpentry, construction technology, or building trades, with hands-on instruction
-
Apprenticeship programs, typically 3-4 years, combining classroom and on-the-job training
-
2-5 years of extensive carpentry experience
-
Completion of OSHA 10-hour construction safety course is encouraged
-
Previous experience or knowledge in the construction or similar trade industry is a plus

Experience or familiarity using hand and power tools

Previous experience working with a team and taking direction from others such as more experienced co-workers and supervisors

Asking questions if unfamiliar with how to properly execute a task or tool to avoid costly mistakes
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to bend/lift/kneel/climb frequently

Push or pull objects greater than 100 pounds (objects, equipment, etc…)

Tolerate outdoor conditions, including varying weather, noise, general air conditions

Ability to work different shifts depending on the needs of the business

Potential for work on weekends/holidays depending on project scope and needs

Ability to be present at jobsite, vendor locations, offices, potential multiple locations in the same day

Walking and standing for extended periods of time
-
Possible requirements to use an electronic device such as a phone or tablet to record/document project progress, clock in/out for jobs
IT REQUIREMENTS:

General knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office technology, mainly email correspondence and Teams meetings

Proficiency in software like Procore or SAGE, or similar construction management applications is a plus
-
Communication platforms such as Microsoft Teams or a similar platform
-
Experience with cloud storage solutions such as Dropbox is a plus
-
General ability to properly use a cellular phone/iPad or tablet/laptop for work will be beneficial for this position
